Yoga Class Descriptions
Beginner Yoga: Fundamentals
This offering is for anyone new to yoga. It will establish a foundation of basic postures, alignment points, and yoga philosophy that will enhance your daily life and insure that your yoga practice starts from the most enjoyable and empowered place possible.
Chair Yoga: All Levels
Chair Yoga creatively adapts yoga poses so that anyone, regardless of age, fitness level or physical condition, can build strength, flexibility and balance. The chair replaces the yoga mat and becomes an extension of the body providing support and stability. If you have viewed a traditional practice of yoga as something you could never do, you will want to try doing it from a chair.
Energy Medicine Meditation
Seeking more energy and vitality? These classes are a perfect way to learn how to activate self-healing energy points by applying massage and acupressure techniques to various parts of the body. Classes end in meditation providing an opportunity to observe and set an intention for the day.
Experienced Beginners Yoga
Ideal for those who have practiced yoga and feel ready to extend their practice. Classes build on the fundamental and introduce you to a wide variety of poses including beginning back bends and inversions.
Gentle Yoga & Meditation for Parkinson’s
Benefit from yoga classes specifically designed for those with Parkinson’s disease. Each class begins with meditation followed by yoga poses practiced with the support of a chair. A more advanced syllabus designed for students who feel confident exploring inversions, deeper back bends, twists, forward bends, arm balances. It is important that students know how to monitor their limits.
Open Yoga: All Levels
For anyone with a foundational knowledge of yoga. Classes build toward peak poses and students are encouraged to modify and explore postures in a way that makes sense for their bodies.
Yoga & Meditation: All Levels
Still yourself. Go within and listen. In this enlightening class, you’ll explore a variety of basic poses before returning to the mat to sit for meditation. It is an opportunity to experience the power and energy of group meditation. You will re-enter the world with a quiet mind and a peaceful, steady step.
Yoga & Restoratives: All Levels
This yummy class is a deep, relaxing experience. We open with a gentle asana series then return to the mat to explore restoratives. You will walk out the door and levitate down US 41! Whether you are dealing with an injury, needing to de-stress, or just in need of a little “me” time, this is a perfect class.
