Learning yoga is like learning a new language. It takes time, patience and muscle memory. Our upcoming “Beginner Basics” workshops (Jan. 11 and Feb. 1, 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.) will show you the ropes, and help you to feel confident, even if you’re just starting out.
During this 90-minute workshop, instructors Lynn and Steve will introduce you to preparatory poses, show you how to use your props and explain in simple terms what your body is doing, what its limits are and the importance of breathing properly during yoga. The class is kept small so that instructors can observe and interact with participants.
Lynn Burgess provides an excellent introduction to yoga and the preparatory poses in her DVD “Yoga for Every Body.” Listen to her introduction in this brief video clip and know that this is only the tip of the entire experience you will get at the Beginner Basics workshop at Yoga from the Heart.
Whether you’re new to yoga or you’re looking for a refresher course, “Beginner Basics” is a great way to meet the mat with confidence. To learn more or register for this yoga workshop, call 941.929.9878. Cost: $30 if you pre-register, $40 day of.
