The Rigtht Program

You Don’t Need to be an Asana-Superstar!

Yoga Teacher Training Sarasota Florida

You may be thinking, “Am I ready?  Is my practice good enough?  Am I strong enough?  We know that some schools require you to be able to perform certain postures before you can apply. That’s not us!

We value passion, commitment to learning, and desire much more than a person’s physical abilities. Many people come to our trainings with widely varying backgrounds.  If we excluded people based solely on their physical practice, we would have kept a lot of amazing people out of the program, so we do not set arbitrary posture requirements that tell us very little about a person’s ability and desire.

In fact, we’ve had a lot of people in the program with newer practices looking to simply expand their own practice, deepen their knowledge and possibly teach at their current skill level. We’ve even had students with a variety of physical challenges enroll.

With that said, the practice is demanding and you’ll be practicing a lot, so the fitter and more familiar you are with the postures, the more comfortable you’ll feel but you don’t have to be an asana-superstar to complete the program and change peoples’ lives.

Finding the “Right” Training Program is Important

It’s critical that you find the program that fits you best.  Here are a few things you should know about our program.

It’s critical that you find the training program that fits you best.  Here are a few things you should know about our program.

  • You will be training with Sarasota’s most established yoga studio that has a proven track record of training yoga teachers. Year after year, we have been voted “Best Studio in Sarasota,” “Most Popular Studio in Sarasota,”  and “#1 Class in Sarasota.” You may find other teacher training programs in Sarasota, but you won’t find one that receives the continual accolades, credit, and recognition that Yoga from the Heart does. We have trained, graduated and certified dozens of RYT 200 instructors.  If you’ve been practicing yoga in Sarasota, chances are good that you’ve either practiced with or have been instructed by a Yoga from the Heart trained teacher. Many of our graduating students teach at gyms, fitness centers, and wellness studios from Bradenton to Punta Gorda. We’ve had students attend our trainings from as far away as Michigan, New York and even Canada.  Why is this so important to you?  Because you benefit from the strong reputation and experience of our amazing faculty, as well as our insatiable quest to constantly improve, add-to and refine the program every time we present it.
  • You have choices so that you can find the experience that is right for you. You’re probably reading this information because you’ve come to point in your life when getting on your yoga mat is a huge priority. Through your practice you’ve experienced how your awareness has grown and your consciousness has expanded. You might even feel as if there is a voice inside beckoning you to step boldly into your purpose and follow your passion. Or, you may have just started thinking about deepening your practice and you aren’t sure if you’ll ever teach. Whether the desire to teach is burning brightly within you or you simply want to dive more deeply into the study of yoga, Yoga from the Heart is the only studio in Sarasota that offers a 100-hour Advanced Studies Program in addition to our 200-hour Teacher Training Program.
  • You will learn real-world skills and tools. Our program is very practical. We give students the tools needed to stand up and actually teach a class. And, we work with students to help them find their own authentic voice.
  • You will experience the best in professional yoga education in an intimate environment. Our small classes provide lots of individual attention that will prepare you to teach with clarity, compassion and confidence. Smaller teacher training classes allow our instructors to give you the kind of individual attention that you deserve.
  • You’ll experience a unique approach to learning. The Latin word “educate” means “to draw out.”  Instead of cramming information into your head, we use a learning environment that encourages students to examine and embody their understanding of the practice. This learning-centered method of teaching ensures that students reach their own insights and express them in their own words.  While different from the traditional teacher-centered way of learning, the learner-centered approach allows students to experience learning in an interactive way.
  • You will study with a staff that has dedicated much of their lives to the study, practice and teaching of yoga. Our instructors are local residents living, working, raising families and investing in your success as well as our local community.  Our teacher training faculty and staff of teachers spend time yearly in advanced trainings with some of the industry’s finest instructors from Rodney Yee to Tias Little.
  • You will be learning at a “Registered” Yoga Alliance school.  Why does that matter?  While there are no licensing requirements for teaching yoga, the national Yoga Alliance (YA) has established widely-adopted standards for education and certification of yoga teachers. Schools must navigate a rigorous review process in order to become “Registered” and then graduate “Registered Yoga Teachers” (RYTs).  The designation of Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) guarantees that a certain level of training and experience has been achieved.  All teachers who have achieved RYT status and register with YA are entitled to use the initials RYT after their name and are listed in the YA Registries.  The Registries are advertised and promoted to the public, organizations that employ yoga teachers, and teacher credentialing organizations.  RYT’s are also listed on the YA website locator so that students searching for teachers who meet YA standards can find them.  You can only become an RYT if you’ve graduated from a Registered Yoga Alliance School like ours.
  • The investment made in yourself will be affordable and offered with flexible options to fit your needs.  We realize that most people need to work full-time or care for a family while pursuing advanced studies.  We have built our program around real-life scheduling that is designed to accommodate a wide range of lifestyles.  Our program is one of the best values for the money. While other programs may be marginally less expensive, their quality just can’t compare.
  • You’ll connect with a wonderful, like-minded community.  When we launched Yoga from the Heart, we were committed to creating a community where anyone from any walk of life could learn yoga and fit-in. This energy pervades our teacher training program.  There’s no doubt you’ll work hard, but you’ll also be surrounded by a devoted and energetic community that very often leads to long-term friendships. Many of our alumni regularly return to Yoga from the Heart and continue their study through our monthly workshops, and classes.
