What if there was a tool to help protect your body against injury while ensuring long-term enjoyment of your sport? There is! Like an insurance policy, yoga, when practiced safely and correctly, is a great investment to ensure against injury.
Athletes are often turned off by yoga because it seems too hard, too easy, or out of sync with their training. However, this time-honored practice facilitates flexibility, improves balance and whole-body strength, form, efficiency, and power. In addition, yoga’s attention to concentration and breath awareness improves mental focus and endurance – hidden assets that become especially important at the end of a long training session or race.
In this workshop, you’ll learn yoga poses to increase:
• Range of motion and flexibility, especially in the hips and hamstrings
• Core Strength
• Stability
While . . . Lowering recovery time and risk of injury and problems with:
• Knees
• Shin Splints
• Posture
Trainers: Tanja Zeissner, a half marathoner and mom of three, demystifies how yoga fits with athletic training and competition. Michelle Eifert, practices yoga as a way to stay in peak condition for high altitude hiking, 5k fun runs and her challenging corporate job. Both ladies are expert instructors who truly understand the needs, bodies, and mind set of athletes.
